FOR 1986-7 BUICK TURBO REGALS!

Hole that needs to be cut in fenderwell Fenderwell hole from under car Hole with edging installed Fuel vapor canister relocated to frame rail 90 degree elbow Kit installed
Splashpan trimmed Filter installed showing clearance to splash pan after trimming Stud kit installed for vacuum ball relocation Vacuum ball installed
Filter closeup WITHOUT brace Optional filter bracket installed

Now available!   This new style Big Mouth cold air kit  is not replacing our original kit but is instead offering a less expensive  alternative to still have a cold air kit and even offers a more efficient path for the air to get to your turbo by eliminating a 45 bend. Parts included are a new 9" K&N air filter with a 4" inlet,  a short length of 4" pipe that connects to a reducing adapter to hook to your 3" stock Buick, Impala SS LT1 or 3.5" LS1 MAF sensor.   Available in plain 16 gauge aluminum with options of polishing or powder coating in black or silver.  Chrome  plated steel is also available.   All clamps and necessary connecters are included.

VERY IMPORTANT!   For a complete turbo to air filter installation (minus YOUR MAF sensor), order one of our MAF pipes in 3, 3.5 or 4" diameters.  We can not guarantee this will work with other manufacturers MAF pipes.

This kit requires a bit more work to install than our original kit and might not be for everyone.  First off, the fuel vapor canister must be relocated to the frame rail near the steering box.  Very easy to do as it only involves drilling a couple of holes and bending the fuel vapor line that runs back to the fuel tank.

The 2nd thing that must be done is to relocate the vacuum ball that is mounted UNDERNEATH the inner fenderwell.  We have an optional relocation kit for the vacuum ball that includes a longer length of vacuum hose, connector and some special aircraft studs by Click Bond that allow you to attach the ball out of the way under the headlight buckets without doing any drilling.

Next up, cutting a hole thru the inner fenderwell so the filter can be located outside the motor compartment.  The hole is cut in the bottom of the area where the fuel vapor canister was mounted.  This is easily cut with a Dremel tool with a #561 universal 1/8" bit.  You can see in the picture where the hole must be cut.  We supply a trim piece to go around the hole for a professional looking installation.

If you ever want to go back to stock, the fuel vapor canister can be put right back where it was and the hole will be covered up by the canister.

OPTI0NS EXPLAINED

FILTER BRACKET KIT - The filter just attaches to a sleeve that goes thru the hole in the fenderwell.  For extra insurance against the filter ever coming loose and dropping off, we have designed a bracket kit that attaches to an existing hole and to the filter.  We preinstall the hardware on the filter for you.

IF YOU WANT ANY OF THESE OPTIONS BE SURE TO CHECK THE OPTION BOXES BELOW.

If you have any doubts on whether this system will work on your car please email me first!

MATERIALS USED

Just a quick explanation of the materials used in our  cold air kits.  We have plain 16 gauge aluminum  pipes for light weight.  This finish is not the most show worthy material as it may have scratches and small imperfections but gets the job done.   Not that it looks bad but in my opinion it is not show worthy unless you rub out the finish with any good metal polish or paint it. Also now available in POLISHED aluminum.  We now offer a Powder coating option on all of our aluminum pipes for an additional charge.

Now the chrome pipes used, that's another story.  These are triple plated chrome steel and are definitely show-worthy right out of the box!  Since they are steel I coat the insides with gloss black POR-15 after careful prepping with "Metal Prep" to remove any rust and to prevent any future rust problems.

Please answer the following questions so we can supply you with the correct kit for your application.
I am using the stock BUICK Turbo Regal MAF sensor
My Turbo Regal has a CHEVY Impala SS 3 inch MAF Sensor
My Turbo Regal has a CHEVY LS1 3.5 inch MAF Sensor

I want the optional filter bracket $15

PLEASE CHECK ONE OF THE FOLLOWING!
Please drill the hole for the AIR TEMP sensor
Please do NOT drill the hole for the AIR TEMP sensor
(A little information for the novice!  The AIR TEMP sensor is the small sensor that screws into the air intake before the MAF sensor. It senses air temperature and some owners do not use this, especially those using the TurboLink scan tool. We drill a hole in the reducer connector to accommodate this sensor. Please be sure to check the proper box so we can send you the correct part!
