HOODSKINZ ON OUR GRAND NATIONAL
Multiple orders may ship
together and extra shipping charges will be refunded.
Includes rivet style
fasteners that hold the liner tightly to the hood bracing holes.
Hoodskinz are now back!
These will also fit the 84-5
non-intercooled Turbo Regals as well as the 86-7 Intercooled
cars, no need to use the stock heat shield on the 84-5 cars.
Will look much cleaner. These were actually developed by a
"hot air" car owner and he has tested it over a long period of
time without any issues.
After a long absence the The Hoodskinz are now available
again! The original hood
liners are hard to come by these days with no word of anyone
coming out with a reproduction. These Hoodskinz are
constructed from 18 ga aluminum and then are powder coated
black. The silver colored graphics you see in the pictures
is the bare aluminum with a sanded finish.
The insulation placed on the back meets or exceeds
the function of the stock hood pad. Per the manufacturer.
The stock appearing version looks very similar to the original
without the hassle of worrying about it getting torn and how
to safely clean without ruining it. These Hoodskinz
simply wipe off. Please be sure to check for clearance
on your up pipe if you are running a non stock size up pipe. On my own GN
that has a 70mm throttle body and a 3" up pipe, it just barely rubbed
but just made some adjustments to get enough clearance. I
also run a RJC Power plate that add just about a 1/4" of
have also added a 10th hole to these which help with clearance
issues. A few other things can cause clearance issues,
worn body mounts, transmission mount especially combined
with HR motor mounts. Just want to make you aware so you
don't just mount the Hoodskinz and slam the hood! Make
sure you check for clearance! There is a hole already in the hood brace
right where extra clearance may be needed and this can make
all the difference. The included Plastic Rivet style
fasteners hold it tighter to the hood than the GM
ones. You also want to make sure you use t
bolt clamps on your up pipe hose connections so you don't
blow the up pipe off. The last thing you want to do is
ruin your new hood liner.
It weighs about 6 pounds when completed. Shipping
is expensive due to the size and configuration of the package these ship in, no
way around that.
Click on below pic to see the two different fasteners
that you can use to fasten. The rivet style are now
included with every purchase. The Hoodskinz now have 10 holes so
if you want the GM style please buy accordingly. Those
are available at just about any auto parts store. Never hurts to have a few extra on
hand. Have had one on my GN for quite a few years now
and still looks like new!
