FOR THOSE OF YOU CONTEMPLATING PUTTING OUR CUTOUT ON YOUR CAR, HERE IS A PIC WITH MEASUREMENTS.

This is the 3" cutout.
The 2.5" cutouts are a little smaller by about 1" in  length and .5" in height.  The 3" measures 3.8" in height by 7.75" in length.

We now also have dual exhaust system cutouts that work simultaneously with one switch.

This exhaust cutout features a thick butterfly plate that is machined precisely for a tight seal

Notice the slots cut so you can rotate the cutout for the best fit

Notice the plug off the motor to make it easy to remove from the car

The motor is isolated from the heat by two standoffs

The quality of construction is outstanding!

The cable for the cutout goes thru the existing hole in the floorboard for the shifter cable.

I mounted the rocker switch in my console gauge pod, but it can also be mounted in the side of the console or in an ashtray switch plate as long as you utilize and 1/2" by 3/4" hole.

Jersey style dump with electric exhaust cutoutI have a customer who recently installed his cutout on a Jersey style dump!  This is when the dump is actually installed directly on the downpipe and points towards the ground.

NOW AVAILABLE - V-8 DUAL EXHAUST CUTOUTS

This system uses the same electric cutout as seen above but the wire harness is modified to control both switches at the same time.  You will need to supply the dump pipes. Custom fabrication will be needed on your part to install the dumps. These are available from Summit or Jegs and can also be found at your local speed shop. We can supply the dual exhaust systems in 2.5, 3 and 3.5" sizes.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

The two dump pipes are NOT included, they must be purchased from Summit Racing, Jegs or your local auto parts supplier.  The dump pipes are welded into your exhaust system before the mufflers and/or catalytic converters. Our cutouts then bolt to the dumps.

HERE'S A FEW PICS OF THE WIRING HARNESS

We have tried to make the installation of the valve as easy as possible.  The switch can be installed in a number of places and has a short length of cable with a plug on the end of it. No need to thread the entire harness thru your switch hole.  You run the motor cable thru the shifter cable grommet under the console over to the cutout and plug it in.  The other end of the harness just has two leads, the white wire hooks up to a fused power source and the black wire goes to ground.  Simple!

Here's a pic of the double momentary rocker switch, the black end of the cable is the switch and the white connector goes to the main harness. Please Note! - The rocker switch requires a 1/2" x 3/4" hole for mounting Pic of wiring harness - Note the black rubber plug, this goes to the exhaust cutout motor, the white connector on the main harness goes to the switch, the white wire goes to a fused power source and the black wire goes to ground All items included with the exhaust cutout system
