Not
sure if you want to go the cold air route on your 86-7 Turbo Regal? We are now offering the Big Mouth Shorty Style air filter
kit if you want to keep your air filter in the motor compartment. Parts included are a new 9" K&N air filter
with
a 4" inlet, a short
length of 4" pipe that connects to a reducing adapter to hook to your
3" stock, Impala SS or 3.5" LS1 MAF sensor. A hole
is drilled in the adapter for easy installation of the MAT sensor. Your
choice of a 3" or 3.5" solid MAF pipe in either 16 gauge
aluminum or chrome chrome plated steel. They can be made to fit either the TA stock type
of turbos or the TE series turbos. All clamps and necessary
connecters are included. Also, now available in 4" MAF pipes.
So there you have it, a
complete Big Mouth "Shorty" air induction system from the turbo to the air
filter. (Not including the MAF sensor of course!)
VERY
IMPORTANT! The 3.5" and 4" solid MAF pipes are for use
with the LS1 MAF sensors only! If you have the stock or Impala SS
3" MAF sensor I suggest you use a 3" MAF pipe. Our shorty
style air filter kits use a 9" K&N cone filter with a 4" opening,
this is where the BIG MOUTH name comes in. You will notice the the filter sits right where the fuel
vapor canister used to be. The canister must be relocated
for this kit to work. There is enough room to mount it directly to
the frame rail with minimal effort. If using the 3.5" MAF
pipe please be aware that the clearance to the IAC is very tight.
I suggest you get a ANGLE BOSS from www.bopengineering.com
to relocate it. The fuel vapor canister MUST BE RELOCATED to
the frame rail for this kit to fit properly!
If you have any doubts on
whether this system will work on your car please email me first!
